The second of two sketches I had in the great episode of Top Story! Weekly that featured an awesome set by Bobcat Goldthwait (watch the whole episode – it’s well worth your time). “El Alcalde de la Pasion” is a longrunning telenovela spoof about L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa that was created by Scott Garner. When the LA city council passed a boycott of Arizona – and with all the key players in the cast for this show – the opportunity was too good to pass up. Neil Garguilo, Artemis Pebdani and Phillip Wilburn are all brilliant in this sketch.

In this installment of “El Alcalde de la Pasion,” Antonio Villaraigosa discovers that if L.A. boycotts Arizona because of the state’s new immigration law, the boycott extends to everything from Arizona – including Cindy McCain!!!

The first of two sketches I wrote for the great episode of Top Story! Weekly from this past Sunday, with Bobcat Goldthwait. Like the rest of America, I loved Betty White on SNL. But that didn’t stop me from writing a sketch about the possibility of a backlash. Which led to Bobcat sharing a story during his set about his experience guesting in “Golden Palace.”

Sure, Betty White was great hosting “Saturday Night Live”…but maybe the hype has gone just a little too far….

In the days before the Obama presidency, Phillip Wilburn and Artemis Pebdani often got to do their terrific George and Laura Bush characters in our sketches. The publication of Laura’s book gave me a chance to write a sketch where we got to revisit that awesome chemistry.

Now that Laura Bush has written her first book, “Spoken from the Heart,” she’s going to tackle a mystery – about who poisoned the American delegation during 2007’s G-8 summit in Heiligendamm, Germany!
