I didn’t write this sketch – but i directed it, and it’s a great one so I’m posting it here so more people can see it. It’s from Sunday night’s Top Story! Weekly, where our special guest was Jim Parrack, who plays Hoyt Fortenberry on HBO’s “True Blood.” To see all of Jim’s sketches, just follow this link.

When Jim Parrack of HBO’s “True Blood” visits a school to talk about his show, he’s surprised to find out he’s not addressing high school students but third graders!

Watch “The Crapface of Life” from Top Story! Weekly Episode 58: “(61) Days of Oil”

June 23, 2010

The participation of North Korea in the World Cup gave me a chance to write and direct a sketch with Artemis Pebdani’s always-hilarious interpretation of Kim Jong-Il – this time, with his invisible phone!

North Korea’s World Cup team may not have a lot of fans, but they do have their number one superfan – Kim…er, Jim Jong-Il!

Watch “Thank You for Being in Heaven” from Top Story! Weekly Episode 56: “An Inconvenient Split”

June 12, 2010

The sad loss of Rue McClanahan gave us at Top Story! Weekly a chance to pay tribute with a “Golden Girls” parody. Unfortunately some really funny lines got lost when actors went up, but it’s still pretty funny.

Golden Girls Dorothy Zbornak and Sophia Petrillo get a wonderful surprise in the afterlife, when Blanche Devereaux arrives!

Watch “Backlash At St. Olaf” from Top Story! Weekly Episode 53: “Like Oil and Water”

May 19, 2010

The first of two sketches I wrote for the great episode of Top Story! Weekly from this past Sunday, with Bobcat Goldthwait. Like the rest of America, I loved Betty White on SNL. But that didn’t stop me from writing a sketch about the possibility of a backlash. Which led to Bobcat sharing a story during his set about his experience guesting in “Golden Palace.”

Sure, Betty White was great hosting “Saturday Night Live”…but maybe the hype has gone just a little too far….

I thought I might start posting videos of my sketches from Top Story! Weekly onto my own blog so more folks might get a chance to see them. This is one I wrote for the April 11 show, about the fact that four women were in space for the first time.

For the first time ever, four women are in space at the same time – and their names are Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha!
